Built From the Community • For the Community

Sparks Lake Activity Center

A long-term investment in Nacogdoches — created to serve families, youth, and future generations through recreation, opportunity, and community connection.

Community Vision

A Place Nacogdoches Needs

Sparks Lake Activity Center is more than a project — it is a commitment to the community. It is being built to create a place where families, youth, churches, schools, teams, businesses, and local residents can gather, stay active, celebrate, and build connection.

Places like this help communities survive, grow, and stay connected. Sparks Lake Activity Center is being developed to fill a real gap in Nacogdoches and create something that can serve people for generations.

Leadership & Trust

Warren “Ralph” Sparks: Proven Local Leadership

Sparks Lake Activity Center is owned and led by Warren “Ralph” Sparks, a respected Nacogdoches County businessman with a proven background in building and operating local businesses.

For two generations, the Sparks name has been connected to work, ownership, service, and accountability in the community. Warren Sparks has built businesses that provide jobs, support local families, and contribute to the long-term growth of Nacogdoches County.

Established. Trusted. Proven. A local businessman investing back into the same community that helped shape his life and work.
Local Foundation

Built on Real Work, Real Property, and Real Commitment

Warren Sparks owns and operates multiple properties and businesses in Nacogdoches County, including Sparks Trucking and Sparks Lake Resort. These operations reflect a background of ownership, employment, service, and long-term investment.

  • Sparks Trucking — hauling, materials, dirt work, and service across East Texas.
  • Sparks Lake Resort — a growing lakefront cabin and hospitality destination.
  • Sparks Lake Activity Center — a community-focused facility being developed for lasting public benefit.

This is not an outside project. It is local ownership, local vision, and local investment being directed toward a space the community can use.

A Growing Gap

Nacogdoches Is Losing Places That Bring People Together

Nacogdoches once had multiple entertainment and gathering spaces, including the Main Theater, Lumberjack Drive-In, Stone Fort Theater, Texan Theater, and the Pines Drive-In. With the closure of the last local movie theater in 2024, families now have fewer places nearby for recreation, connection, and shared experiences.

Residents may be forced to drive to surrounding towns for things that should exist right here at home. That loss matters — because community spaces are not just entertainment. They are part of how people stay connected.

This is bigger than a building. It is about access, opportunity, connection, and keeping community life alive locally.
Filling the Gap

Building Something the Community Can Keep

Sparks Lake Activity Center is being developed to help fill that gap — creating a place where people can gather, stay active, host events, support youth, and build something meaningful together.

Instead of watching community spaces disappear, this project is about building one that stays.

Places like this are necessary.
