Project Overview

Sparks Lake Activity Center

A community-centered redevelopment restoring a historic site into a modern recreation, event, and destination environment for Nacogdoches and East Texas.

Arrival & Identity

Reestablishing the entrance with purpose.

The proposed entrance gives the property a recognizable public identity while honoring the importance of the original site. Positioned where the historic school sign once stood, it reconnects memory, place, and future use in a visible way.

Multi-Use Interior

More than a basketball court.

The facility is designed to function as a flexible indoor space supporting sports, youth programs, community gatherings, meetings, banquets, and special events. The goal is steady, repeated use rather than single-purpose scheduling.

Community Activity

Built for youth, families, and local groups.

Organized community activity helps make the site useful every week rather than only on occasion. Basketball, youth programs, family gatherings, and local events all support a stronger daily-use environment.
